Its hard to think of a first date idea, since it really depends on the season and what is going on around the area. Fairs, rodeos, concerts, outdoor activity of some sort.
Open to ideas. Dinner some place nice or go to a horse event ...whether competing or not ....a equine fair....some where we both are comfortable that we can talk without feeling pressure and get to know each other better... see more >>

My perfect first date: A bbq at my house followed by a trail ride with a bonfire that eve. I am a good cook, we can grill steaks and portabellos or what ever, and ride the horses down in the park along the river. We can sit by the bonfire and talk, share a glass of beer or wine and get to know each other. The only thing that matters is we talk.
If the heat wasn't so bad, I would love to meet somewhere and go for a trail ride. My horses, yours or both! But with the weather, dinner sounds a little more realistic!
..I do know that talking and emailing doesn't hold true value....meeting in person does....chemistry cannot be judged based on emails or phone conversations.

Well then, somewhere a bit casual with a good atmosphere thats not too crowded so we can hear each other. Or maybe a ride - haven't been on board for about 6 years now so I can feel a radox bath coming on after that idea... see more >>

Have a nice moonlight ride on horses, or just a walk to talk to get to know each other. Or go out for a coffee.

A relaxed atmosphere with a genuine person, perhaps a pinic beside a river or lake, with our horses grazing nearby, soft breaze blowing on a summers day.
Meet for coffee or a drink and just chat. I wouldn't really consider it a date per se. It's two strangers meeting to see how they get along; and find some common ground.
